Neal, Gerber & Eisenberg LLP is a mid-sized Chicago Loop law firm seeking a Software Trainer. The Software Trainer is responsible for conducting training classes and assisting the Application Development Manager in customization and integration of the Firm’s core desktop applications. As a subject-matter-expert the Software Trainer will develop and deliver training materials, solve issues, increase user adoption and create a learning culture for the Firm. The Software Trainer should review results and trainee feedback to improve materials and classes, as well as identify and develop additional software training opportunities.
Conducts training classes and leads the development of training programs and reference materials.
Presents to and trains individuals as well as large groups.
Administers the MacPac application including regular changes and updates, as well as troubleshoot issues as they arise.
Participates in creation of new forms, templates, macros, styles, etc. in alignment with the Firm’s style guidelines.
Assists IT staff in testing and evaluating application software for recommendation to the Firm.
Supports Firm software users on an as-needed basis, including telephone support and personal follow-up with users.
Provides high level technical support for end-users resolving difficult Help Desk issues.
Trains and supports users on specialized software applications for use in various Firm administrative and practice groups.
Participates in various continuing education courses and skill enhancement programs.
Makes recommendations to the Director of IT on procedure and technology changes to improve Firm productivity.
Works on special projects as assigned by Director of IT.
High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) credentials required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
1-3 years’ training experience.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
In-depth knowledge of all industry standard software.
Ability to plan and organize training courses and activities.
Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects effectively.
