This Attorney position works under the direction of the Administrative Counsel to assist the Office of Administrative Counsel in completing its various functions in support of the Agency mission of protecting human health and the environment. The position works on a broad range of issues in several practice areas, including: legal research, analysis, and writing regarding environmental laws and other laws pertinent to the Agency functions; managing, drafting and reviewing contracts; managing rulemaking and the legislative agenda; strategically supporting Agency compliance and enforcement cases; reviewing and updating Agency policies; creating standard work for Agency processes; and completing special projects and assignments. This position requires excellent customer service skills, initiative to solve problems independently, an ability to manage teams, great communication skills, and a desire to work hard to transform the office in order to have more mission outcomes.
Juris Doctor degree required
Arizona State Bar License required
5 years of relevant experience providing legal advice
Knowledge of: federal and state environmental statutes; AZ state government administrative practice; AZ state legislative processes; legal interpretation fundamentals; contract drafting fundamentals
