Requires a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
At the entry level, one year of full time responsible legal experience in criminal or civil litigation/transactional. Some trial work and legal research experience is desirable.
For positions opened above entry-level, a minimum of three years of professional legal experience, including criminal or civil litigation/transactional and legal research, may be required depending upon the needs and requirements of the City Attorney's Office.
Candidates must have the minimum amount of work experience. Education will not substitute for the required work experience; however, related unpaid and / or volunteer work experience may be used as qualifying work experience.
Certifications, Licenses, and/or Registrations:
Membership in good standing with the State Bar of Arizona.
Successful continuing employment is contingent upon passing an FBI background investigation. Based on position, referred applicants may be subject to additional testing which may include pre-employment polygraph, physical and drug screening.
